Having been reading a lot of articles recently, about the increase of Google’s desktop programs, the increased use of things like Firefox and Linux, I cant help thinking that Microsoft are a little bit screwed. People now know there is a better way, and are taking it.
Microsoft are getting a smaller and smaller (albeit still the majority) market share, and things are looking up. With all this competition, often from free programs, Microsoft are really going to have to pull the stops out, and produce some really good, competitively priced products very soon. If Microsoft don’t start doing something about it, they will soon disappear. I think that in the next 2-3 years we are either going to see some really good software coming out, or Microsoft getting noticeably smaller.
