Google Is Hosting Our Email!

We’ve been selected to test the special beta of Google Hosted (also known as ‘Gmail for your domain’).

This special beta test lets you give Gmail, Google’s webmail service, to every user at your domain. Gmail for your domain is hosted by Google, so there’s no hardware or software for you to install or maintain.
Gmail for your domain is currently available as a limited beta. If your organization is interested in helping Google test this service, we’ll consider your domain for this beta. You’ll need to sign in with a Google Account (or get a new one), and answer a few quick questions about your organization and your email needs.

This means that my email will be up even if my servers crash or if I switch hosts. Another advantage is that I get to use the greasemonkey scripts for gmail. Also I can now sign in to Google Talk using my domain’s email address, which some of you may have noticed already (if not its time you added jeff@jeffwu.net to your google talk contacts :)). Finally there is the satisfaction of knowing that I’ll never have to worry about storage space.
