GTalkPhone, Make PC-to-Phone Calls

I’ve just discovered this relatively new service called GtalkPhone (thanks to Rickshaw) that allows you to instantly connect to any phone anywhere.

Although GTalkPhone is fairly new service (offered in conjunction with Google talk… hence the name), the company has been around for more than a decade providing advanced telecommunications, including PBX, Toll Free and ISP services. They have intelligent backend systems to guarantee reliable, cost effective services to home-based, small, medium, and Fortune 500 companies.

With their VOIP-gateway, telephone calls are routed across the world using the internet, rather than utilizing traditional long distance and international networks. This saves you money. GTalkPhone calls economically share the network of the internet, routing to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) only when necessary to connect to a party using a traditional phone. Unlike the PSTN, which uses a worldwide network of dedicated circuits that sit idle when there are no phone calls, GTalkPhone uses the power of the internet to reserve bandwidth only when calls are in-progress. And since GTalkPhone supports XMPP, the same open industry standard that allowed email delivery from any account to any other account even across multiple providers, consumers will have more product and service choices at lower prices.

PC to PC calls using GTalkPhone are absolutely free, no matter where you call. Calls from GTalkPhone to a regular phone are subject to a small fee. Still it is much cheaper than making calls from a regular phone, especially for international calls.

Making phone calls is extremely simple just type the phone number you wish to call in the input box, and then click the green phone icon to initiate the call.
